![]() Small bipeds now socialise with eachother some monsters now graze on grass (can look ugly, needs finishing) Disable using the beamaxe to light caves underground Added pixel compressor for high cost banking (idea from Ncrpts) Ore rebalance (probably way way too much ore at the moment, will be fixed later, enjoy it) Underground random encounters more common Underground detached/rare biomes more common Added a stance system to weaponry, not currently used but will allow us toĪdd secondary attacks to weaponry very soon. Added new boss and new sector of the galaxy Added early implementation of creature taming (more features coming soon) Leveling system entirely rewrittenĪlthough the balance is early the new leveling system, the system is much better than the old one and we can HUGE balance patch, every item, creature, armor and weapon rebalanced. ![]() Land the damn thing on top of the dungeon, not on the other side of the planet. * Which is to say that the player spawning system is completely arbitary. I can deal with that, ie the better planets are more secure, but certain ores could be more common, or at least have some way of making them easier to find (hell its the future, why can't we just artificially create diamonds?). Once you leave that system they suddenly become much more widely available. By this I mean that certain resources that are needed for your current tier items aren't available in large numbers within that tier's system. The difficulty of finding the rarer ores, ie diamonds, on the lower tier planets is a tad annoying as well. I can get that they may want the game to have that survivalist style, but having to run half way around a planet to get to a dungeon, only to be killed by a generic mob right outside of it can be annoying *. I've found that with my own character that their weapons far outpace their armour in terms of damage to damage recievable. Yes, I have rather noticed the imbalanced. Is the forge going to stick around, or are we going to be hammering out a copper laser gun on an anvil? Maybe it won't bug me when I am playing, but it bugs me now. Why have that dip? Is is just because we want the feeling of progression? Also doesn't using stone and wood crafting set a bad president for when the game moves into future devices. What is the point behind temporary being reduce to stone axes if your going to move right back up to cool future stuff. Like you said you start with a very advanced mater manipulator and you also have a high tech 3d printer inside the ship. If rather then dropping back to stone tools, you just used the high tech that is on your ship. Plot justifies nothing! I think I would feel better if the matter manipulator was your main mining tool and then you just moved into higher tech versions as you went along. While you DO have to go through a low-tech phase, that's specifically for plot reasons (you don't have the resources to manufacture high tech goods at first, because for various reasons depending on species you had to escape from your planet with little more than a ship and the shirt on your back). You want to leave your mark on the game HOW TO GET BACK ONTO MY SHIP STARBOUND CODEYou enjoy testing buggy and unfinished code You’ll get to see a bunch of ‘behind the scenes’ content at this stage and provide feedback during this crucial period. The engine won’t optimized during this stage of the beta so performance could be poor on some low end machines. You should expect the game to be broken at points as we make sweeping changes but you’ll get to enjoy exciting new content added constantly. If you choose to take part during stage 1 you should expect bugs, lots of balance changes, you shouldn’t get too attached to your character or universe as we may make changes that require you to start from scratch. Updates will come thick and fast, sometimes as often as multiple updates a day. A bunch of unfinished features will be disabled whilst we finish them up. This will be the buggiest and busiest stage of the beta. Stage 1 will be move at a breakneck speed. ![]()
